There are stories that are told.
And then there are stories that are remembered.
Standing silently against the Arabian Sea in Diu, the INS Khukri Memorial is not just a monument, it is a reminder of sacrifice etched into history.
INS Khukri, a Blackwood-class frigate of the Indian Navy, was sunk on 9 December 1971 during the Indo-Pakistani War. It remains the only post-Independence Indian naval warship lost in war, a moment that reshaped naval history and national memory.
This film was not approached as documentation.
It was approached as a tribute.
Our creative direction focused on restraint and reverence. Slow cinematic movements, expansive aerial frames, and carefully composed visuals allowed the memorial to speak for itself. The sea was not treated as background it, became a character, holding the silence of the fallen.
Golden-hour lighting added emotional depth, while minimalistic storytelling ensured dignity remained intact in every frame.
This project became more than a visual narrative.
It became a salute.
Through this film, Cinesta preserved not just a structure, but a legacy anchored in courage.
